Tell Your Elected Officials: Uphold a Veto on HB 1100

Last month, the state legislature passed HB 1100, an unconscionable bill that offers billions of dollars in taxpayer money to the gas and petrochemical industries to build more chemical and plastics factories in Pennsylvania.

HB 1100 will link Pennsylvania’s economy to the fossil fuel industry for a generation, which means more pollution and more environmental degradation across the state while we’re still cleaning up after a century of damages from the coal industry. The stakes couldn’t be higher.

Fortunately, Governor Wolf has publicly stated his intent to veto this bill – as soon as next week – so that it doesn’t become law, but we need your help!

The bill passed by a vote of 39-11 in the Senate and 157-35 in the House after historic lobbying from the fossil fuel industry. If two-thirds of the General Assembly votes to override the governor’s veto, HB 1100 will become law.

That’s why we need you to contact your elected officials today and urge them to uphold the governor’s veto! Act now!
